Shannon Latham's baby shower
Wilton course 1 final project

This is my final project for my Wilton course 1 cake. While decorating this cake I have decided that I hate making roses. Not only do I think they are a little out dated, I don't make them very well. Mary said it was the icing, but she was trying to be the nice instructor. Also I learned that it's really hard to make buttercream icing really smooth if all you have to work with the small straight spatula that comes with the course 1 kit.
2008 Pie Contest

Ok, so this isn't a cake. Every time the Hansen side of the family gets together we have a pie making contest. This is my entry. It is a cherry pie. The decoration on the top is not really worms as one might think, but a cherry blossom branch, get it because it's a cherry pie. With this cleverness you would think I would have one, but alas I did not. Kish one this year because she appealed to the masses (kids) and made a pudding praline pie, or something like that. It was I have to admit very yummy.
Cupcakes
Just some cute pink cupcakes. I made these special for Claire, Kylie, and Lexi since they didn't get their own cake for the 2 year old party. I tried to glue a ribbon around them. I think I needed to use more hot glue and gave up after 3. I kept getting clumps in my icing so the rosettes aren't as cute as I would have liked.2 year old party

I made this cake for my niece Lexi's birthday. This is my first fondant cake. I love using fondant. It makes cakes look so pretty.
